Know to clone a hard drive

Ever had a hard drive crash and you lose everything including the way you had all the software set up. I will show you a free and easy to use cloning program (like Norton Ghost) that you can use to clone your hard drive disc or to restore it over a network.

Step1

Visit the Clonezilla website , use the link in resources. Review the website and see if this is the right software for your needs. If it looks like what you want to use, then download the application. Download either the .iso version or the usb drive version. Follow the installation instructions to set up for the program.

Step2

Load the Clonezilla Live cd in the machine you want to clone, make sure the computer is set to boot from the drive that the Clonezilla program is in. The software will start up and give you several options to choose from, you will probably use option 1. You can choose to backup or restore a drive. You will need to know the network repository where the disc image is stored.

Step3

You can also create an .iso image which you can use to make a backup cd or dvd clone of your drive.
